Green teas are produced mainly in China and Japan. Chinese Buddhist monks brought teas to Japan in the 8th century. Buddhists drank tea for its health benefits, but also because they found its stimulating properties helpful for meditation. India and Sri Lanka (Ceylon) have also recently begun producing green tea.

ingredients: Japanese ceremonial green tea made from gyokuro tea leaves
Gyokuro tea is high in chlorophyll as a result of unique growing conditions.
The leaves are covered with cloths or bamboo curtains, under which they
develop a rich green colour. The tea leaves are steamed, dried, then ground

As with other green teas, the pu-erh tea leaves used to make the mini Green Pu-erh Tuocha are pan-fired/steamed immediately after picking to destroy the enzymes that lead to fermentation. For this reason, green pu-erh has a small amount of caffeine and a milder flavour.
